Shot Bro is made by Wairua Takarangi, an individual developer in New South Wales, Australia. Questions about your data: hello@shotbro.app. We don't sell your data, show ads or use tracking or advertising tools.
What stays on your phone
- Your location. Shot Bro uses your phone's location while the app is open, to give distances, follow your ball and mark the flag. It isn't collected in the background. The only places it leaves your phone are the spots of shots you track (saved with your round if you're signed in) and your live spot while friends can watch your round (see below).
- Videos for Shot story. Clips you pick or film are made into a video on your phone. They aren't uploaded.
- Scorecard photos. The scorecard reader works on your phone; the photo isn't uploaded.
- Your bag and settings, and rounds you play without an account.
What's saved to your account (if you sign in)
- Email address, to sign you in.
- Profile: your name, profile picture, handicap, home course and marker.
- Rounds: scores, putts and the stats you enter, and where your tracked shots and the flag were on the course.
- Friends, crews and follows, and the friend code that finds you.
- Posts you share: photos, words, rounds, likes and comments.
- Games you play with others: scores and targets.
- Course maps you share, with your name on them as the mapper.
- Your live spot on the course, only while you're in a round and only if "Friends can watch my round" is on (Settings). It shows to your friends and is cleared when the round ends.
- Emoji reactions friends send you, and that you send.
Who can see it
- Your friends see your profile, rounds shared to friends, your posts to friends, and your live round while it's on.
- Posts you set to Everyone, crew posts and shared course maps can be seen by anyone using Shot Bro.
- You can block someone; they then can't see your posts or you theirs. Anyone can report a post, and reports go to the Shot Bro team.
Who helps us run it
- Supabase stores your account, rounds, posts and photos.
- Cloudflare runs this website and the waitlist.
- Resend sends the sign-in emails.
- Aerial photos and map data come from public sources (NSW Spatial Services, LINZ and other state services, OpenStreetMap). Your phone asks them for map tiles directly, like any map app; they see a normal web request, not your account.
The waitlist
If you joined the waitlist we keep your email and, if you gave it, your home course, to send your invite and tell you when Shot Bro launches. Reply to any email or write to hello@shotbro.app to come off the list.
Deleting your data
In the app: Settings → Delete my account. It deletes your account, profile, the rounds saved to it, your posts, photos, likes, comments, friends and crews straight away. Course maps you shared stay up for other golfers. Rounds saved only on your phone stay on your phone until you delete the app. You can also email hello@shotbro.app and we'll do it for you.
Children
Shot Bro is for people 13 and over. We don't knowingly collect data from children under 13; if you think we have, email us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll say so in the app before it applies.
